AI Self-Assessment Prompt
A free three-page prompt that asks an AI you already use to identify specific repeated patterns in how you work.

If you have been using Claude or ChatGPT regularly for client work, research, drafting, or any kind of substantive thinking, the model has built up a quiet picture of how you approach problems, where you tend to second-guess yourself, and which kinds of decisions you keep close versus delegate. This is a free prompt for asking it to share that picture back, with examples it can quote from your own conversations.
The PDF lays the prompt out across four steps and adds short notes on what to expect from each one, including how to follow up if the first response is too general.

Open the AI assistant you have used most over the past few months, and paste the four-step prompt into a new conversation. The prompt relies on the model having context on your work, so a fresh account with no history will give a different, more generic answer. Let the model work through each step in turn, and read the response slowly. The first answer tends to be the broadest. The useful read comes from the second round, when you can quote a specific line back and ask the model to look more carefully at that pattern.
The longer article goes into why this kind of read can be more useful than a personality framework, and what to do with it once you have one: AI Strengths and Weaknesses Assessment: A Pattern-Recognition Prompt.
